COMMUNITY BASED ECOTOURISM WILL BE BENEFICIAL TOWARDS THE INFRASTRUCTURE AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES IN RURAL AREAS IN BALI – THE CASE STUDY OF DESA NYAMBU BALI

This research paper is about whether Community Based Ecotourism (CBE) bought beneficial impact towards the local community and infrastructure of the rural area. It contains secondary literature review to previous theories and studies regarding this topic and study cases. The aim and objectives of this research paper is to discover how the CBE has impacted the local community’s welfare and infrastructure by conducting a case study in one of the developed CBE villages in Bali known as Desa Nyambu. Research questions are aimed towards before, during and after the development of CBE to investigate the strategies, difficulties, challenges and result of the development. The research questions are divided into 3 parts in which are The Baseline (Condition before the interventions of Investors and Sponsors), During the Interventions (The Sustainable Planning and Progress towards the village from Ecotourism Organizers), Self-Sustain Village (The “After-effect” of the CBE development of the village and how it impacted the local communities and infrastructure). This research was utilizing Qualitative Method to gain specific research findings from the interviewees. The interview research was conducted on 27-30 of December 2022 and then further developed to Key Findings. From the result, it has been confirmed that by developing CBE, it will bring positive impact towards the local communities in terms of Economic, Environmental, Socio-Cultural, and Infrastructure of the village. However, there were challenges in developing the sustainable program such as, lack of local community’s participation, conflict between the government and local community, and managing foreign investors to reduce the improper land use. The Village had face upon greate challanges as its growth were interfered with the recent Covid-19 Pandemic, which cause the village to limit their visitor's income significantly, this is further explained in chapter IV as the author had made some adjustment to this research paper.
