A CRITICAL ASSESSMENT OF HOW AN ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS) CONTRIBUTES TO THE TOURISM INDUSTRY IN JAKARTA

This research focuses on the implementation and contribution of the Environmental Management System (EMS) in the tourism industry in Jakarta, Indonesia. With the increasing awareness of environmental issues, the tourism sector in Jakarta faces challenges in managing its environmental impacts. This study aims to explore how the EMS is implemented in the tourism industry in Jakarta, its contribution to environmental impact management, and the successes achieved through its implementation. The research seeks to understand the strategies and practices employed in implementing the EMS, the effectiveness of these measures in mitigating environmental impacts, and the positive outcomes observed in Jakarta's tourism sector. The study employs qualitative research methods, including interviews, observations, and document analysis, to gather data and insights from relevant stakeholders in the tourism industry.
