THE IMPLEMENTATION ECOTOURISM CONCEPT IN NATIONAL PARK: STUDY CASE OF KOMODO NATIONAL PARK
Ecotourism has become a new opportunity for sustainable tourism. Komodo National Park has been established sine 1980 as conservation area. This Final Project is to understand how far the ecotourism in Komodo National Park is implemented when the national park become a tourist attraction. By knowing how far the ecotourism concept has been implemented in Komodo National Park, this research is to provide the recommendation to the management of Komodo National Park. The concept of ecotourism is to make the sustainability in tourism industry. In Indonesia tourism is one of the priority development sectors for contribute economy since 2015. Komodo National Park is one of the projects for the development as ten new Bali to develop a new tourism destination as an alternative to Bali. This Final Project tare using methodology by collecting secondary research by literature review and primary research by interview a staff as the coordinator of strategic environmental studies for the Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua regions and also as the coordinator of strategic environmental studies in the Komodo National Park from Ministry of Forestry and Environment of Indonesia. After conducting research, it can be found that the implementation of the ecotourism concept in Komodo National Park is in accordance with the purpose of opening tourist destinations in the National Park. In the last part the author provide the recommendation to the Komodo National Park based on the key finding the author found from the research.
